Could Be This Much Fun?
We offer exciting, Christ-centered programs at all services for kids in first through sixth grades. Each Sunday, kids alternate attending either a grade-specific Sunday School class or Superchurch, a high-energy, bi-monthly blowout. Bible truths are presented through lessons, puppets, dramas, songs, and games. Children are always dismissed from the sanctuary after worship.
In addition to weekly classes, we host special events throughout the year. VBS, Kid’s Camp, parties, fun nights, campouts, and opportunities to serve others are available for your child. We also have an incentive program which allows children to earn Beaver Bucks that can be redeemed for items at the Lodge.
All Aboard for Jesus!
Children four and five years old get to have fun in Joy Junction, where they learn about God through stories and activities they understand. Joy Junction is also a comfortable introduction to the "big kids" environment. Like the elementary-age children, the four and five year-olds earn Beaver Bucks that can be redeemed for items at the Lodge.
It's More Than Nursery Rhymes
Our nursery provides gentle care and age-appropriate Bible exploration for children ages birth through three years old. Located in the main hall, it is open fifteen minutes prior to each service. In consideration of our staff, please pick up your child immediately following the conclusion of service. We ask that your child be checked in and out by the same parent or approved guardian. The staff member will receive and return your child at the nursery door, rather than having the parent enter the room. This makes it easier to control room access and minimizes the chance of a child exiting without our supervision or approval.
The check-in procedure includes registration forms, sign-in information, proper name ID, and a call number. If your child is distraught and cannot be comforted, we will display his call number on the LED boards in the sanctuary. More information is available at our nursery doors.
Get Plugged In!
Kids in fifth through sixth grades are at an exciting age. They're a little too old for much of children's church and a little too young for youth group; but that doesn't mean they can't have fun! Here at Living Word, fourth through sixth graders are encouraged to join PLUGG, a special ministry opportunity for them to get involved with events and activities at church. We want them to understand that being part of the body of Christ isn't boring—from puppets to drama, and nursery help to sports, it's the most fulfilling fun anyone could have! PLUGG members also enjoy accelerated Bible studies and special events; and on Wednesday nights, fifth and sixth graders hang out in Club 56 for games, snacks, and Bible discoveries.
